This is a hard one to write. To accept that I've let stagnation and complacency take over this spring, knowing full well that it would happen once I settled back in KC. Not that I haven't enjoyed getting back to my roots and surrounding myself with family and friends again. In April, I accepted a position in the Electrophysiology lab at Saint Luke's where my nursing career first started. We primarily handle pacemakers, ablations, and biopsies, not unfamiliar given my cardiac background, but worlds away from bedside nursing.
Women of Trade has been put on hold for the time being, with me and Callie changing jobs so frequently and trying to keep up with our already crazy lives (see my last post, "Finding Calcutta"). My sister and I decided to add five baby chickens to our family farm-honestly, what were we thinking- at least they're entertaining!

We also were able to visit Chicago over Memorial Day weekend, after not seeing my grandpa in almost two years. I cannot express how comforting it was to see him still doing so well after the nightmare that was last year.
Although Teddy and I found an apartment close to home, my wanderlust is still as strong as ever! This new Monday through Friday schedule makes impromptu road trips difficult, but traveling will never be out of the question. I work with several agency nurses who recommend a year in EP before taking on travel assignments if I want to get back out there.
Those are our most recent updates! As always, there's still plenty of Teddy cuteness all over my instagram (em_grace94) if you need a smile! We'll keep you posted on any new adventures and how these new chickens get along!
Love,
Teddy and Emma Grace
